Sri Lankan Cricket Updates

My thoughts on the Test squad is that it is kinda disappointing, should have rewarded more players who did well in SL A victory in South Africa like Sooriyabandara, Pavan Rathnayake, Wijesundara..Wickramasinghe would have been a good punt you do need a seamer all rounder in SENA

Dhananjaya de Silva (capt), Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis, Oshada Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Prabath Jayasuriya, Nishan Peiris, Lasith Embuldeniya, Milan Rathnayake, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, Kasun Rajitha
I am not sure Nishan Peiris is useful. He's good on low slow Sri Lankan filth. Chamindu Wickramasinghe should have got the nod over him. We are only going to play Jayasuriya. Mendis and DDS are more than handy spinners. I am skeptical even Jayasuriya would be needed. All seam attack may be the option.

Batting is solid and only place even under question is that of Kusal Mendis'. So taking many batsmen won't give them much opportunities.

Do you think we can win the series ?

It's a very solid squad. Got all our batters, sadeera as backup keeper. Oshada has broke back in. 5 quicks who all have done relatively well internationally recently. It's just the spinners who will be passengers. I mean sure wijesundara for example has done well but there is no case for him to replace any of the quicks barring maybe Milan. Bringing chamindu is madness. He is way too young and inexperienced. He has 5 wickets at 50 in fc cricket and I'm not confident in his bowling action.

The batting sort of picks itself at the moment and I doubt we will experiment too much if at all. My feeling is a better mix of backup bowlers might have been useful just in case and I think there are one or two better options who could have come in.

Could you expand on what you mean by a better mix of backup bowlers? Who are you thinking?
