MacGill was unlucky because he played in the same era as Warne. What if he was born in India? Would he have been more successful?

Hard to tell how well MacGill might’ve done. He played the majority of his tests in Australia. He had only a single series in Pakistan and SL and he was successful in one, not so much in the other. Didn’t do so well in the Windies.

Still not like Harbhajan is that high of a bar.

I think he would’ve been better than Harbhajan. Somewhere closer to Herath I reckon.

Johan

State Vice-Captain
MacGill was far greater, he spun the ball pretty ridiculously plus had tougher home conditions (2000s Australia was Flat) and still gave equivalent performance.

wait what does Harbhajan have to outdo Jadeja's Australian BGTs?
Jadeja rarely plays full series abroad which makes his record seem better. Harbi has quality full series returns in critical series in WI, SA and NZ in which he was India's lead bowler, not just support like Jadeja.

Neither is great away but Harbi could stand out. But Jadeja is better overall.
