**Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

Kirkut

International Regular
Current word from the secret WACA camp is Rahul has an injured elbow batting and Gill has a fractured thumb fielding at slip (are Sharma, Rahul and Gill out of 1st Test?)
I think after the NZ debacle, Gambhir subjected some players to brutal punishment in nets by making them face Shami in full throttle without any protection.

@aussie fans heard macsweeny averages 30 in shield cricket. Sure there must be better players like nick Madison and sam whiteman. Do you guys think he is far better then his average suggests? Can he adjust to opening against very good indian attack

I wonder if this side will work out for us -

Jaiswal
Rahul
Washy
Virat
Pant (wk)
Jurel
Jaddu
Nitish
Harshit
Akashdeep
Bumrah
You want to bat Sundar at three in Perth? That’s a big ask man. Jurel looked he shizz in the A games, would it be worth giving him a shot at it or are you thinking Sundar to shield guys like him from the new ball, which might not be a bad play I guess?

Sundar is pretty much a top order batsman (mostly opener) in FC and below levels in India. I just think it will be the best way to manage the resources we have at our disposal for this test. Longer term, he may well be the guy to take the Jadeja role but as a horses for courses for the first test, I wont mind this at all and will actually expect him to do well there.

Closer to 40 and the selectors seem to think he's future test player. I'm not overly confident but we don't have any better options.
