Yeah they changed it this season because a lot players complained about the 3 day turnaround time between games last season. The finalists played 10 games in 10 weeks or something ridiculous.

This time they're sandwiching the 20 over and 50 over comps in between before playing the second half of the FC season. It's still going to be tight but at least the shorter format is less demanding and there's more recovery time.

They won't do the obvious thing though which is reduce the length of the IPL window.

Its also coz the winter in north India makes for very short days and a lot of games get affected as a result.
