this the logic some old ass man in London would use for Boycott>Ponting

it also leads to Barrington > Ponting and Chappel, lame
I never said it was the only factor did I?

The difference is ****ing huge in this case and worth mentioning if people reckon they’re gonna rate Root over Barrington.

No shame in not being as good as Barrington. The only flaw in Barrington career compared to other ATG careers is probably longevity.

I really dislike this term, or how its used.

These term was basically invented for Bangladesh in the 00’s. And fair play too, just look at their record. 61 tests, 3 wins, 52 losses. Their only wins were against Zimbabwe right before they stopped playing tests after a period of shittiness comparable to Bangladesh post Flower and Streak. And 2 against possibly the worst Windies team of all time right at the end of the decade (Chanders missed those matches).

These teams were never anywhere near as bad as Bangladesh. No team was frankly. (Maybe NZ in the 30’s? idr). The term minnow is thrown around way too lightly imo.
Actually looking over it, its fair to call NZ minnows in the 30’s-50’s and India minnows in the 30’s-40’s.

Well I said it's probable it happens by the end of his career, we'll see what his average by 2027 Ashes looks, I didn't zay it already happened.

Lets face it, Ashes is kind of important for Aus/Eng bats.

Root in Ashes 65 innings 2428 @ 40.46
Barrington in Ashes 39 innings 2111 @ 63.96
The Ashes in Australia doesn't matter because Australia always win anyway. It's far better for England for Root to score runs in closer series.

Nah the only thing that matters is having a well rounded record on statsguru and passing the analysis by checklist test. Maximizing how many games your team wins doesn’t matter obviously.

Ok. It might be biased because of guys like Lara, Ambrose and Walsh right?

After Lara’s retirement

Windies with Shiv: 15 wins 28 losses 20 draws 23.8% win rate
Windies without Shiv: 0 wins 5 losses 2 draws 0% win rate

Well, if Chanders is a part of a team, technically that's an auto loss for that team

Turns out its actually when he’s not part of the team its an automatic loss.
Perhaps Sheev's inclusion prevented materialistic defeat but the inclusion of him guarantees a metaphorical and ideological and spiritual defeat.

I'm just hating
