India will not travel to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy

It may had been a clause though, that say India not playing (which was really very predictable) will let the broadcasters pay 40% less on CT rights. I mean, those deals are complex and I can't see broadcasters missing this.
Yeah I’m certain they’d have such conditions in there, especially given they knew this was on the cards

I think all Test nations should be at Champions Trophy
It's interesting that the whole reason this whole tournament started was to spread the game to developing cricketing nations, now it's got to be so exclusive that there isn't space for some of the oldest and most established cricketing nations on the planet. It may now be held in an associate nation, but only at the behest of the biggest and most developed cricketing nation of them all!

When teams have refused to play matches in tournaments in the past they’ve had to forfeit those results. What’s the difference here?

Yeah but that's been the go to neutral ground for decades. Only UAE or Bangladesh would be an option imo but it's a bit late to make changes to country. India have known they'd be playing in Pakistan since WC 2023 (actually since June 2021 when ICC named Pakistan as hosts)

Also not fair India would be based for example in UAE while all other teams have long flights to them and back to Pakistan
What a crap take . When india were hosted any tournament the travelling distance between some venues is bigger than traveling distance between pakistan and UAE.

And most of tournament co- hosted by countries

Australia - NZ had hosted World cup and teams were regular travelled nz to Australia.

Asia cup 2018 was hosted by india but due to Pakistan refused to participated in india , india move that tournaments to UAE.

Some people's have very short memory

In 90s Pakistan was refused to play Hero cup in india just four days prior to tournaments.

Time has changed now as india has becomes financial power in cricket compared to 90s

Cause usually compromises are made , and this basically means India won't be at Champions Trophy if the tournament is only played in Pakistan.
Well that's India's choice. And I don't see how any host country can compromise when India is basically saying a semi-final and final will not be played in the host country if they're in it (leaves only 1 semi in Pakistan)

Wow Pakistan are saying there is no chance of a hybrid model
All a pretence. They have to show that they are absolutely opposed to it, otherwise it would look terrible for them domestically. And it's a natural reaction as well. Nothing wrong with it. Anyone would react like this but eventually they'd accept reality and soften their stance. Why? because they are contractually obliged by broadcasters to accept a hybrid model in this situation. It's in the contracts. If they don't agree, PCB is screwed. they won't get their share of hosting money and would have to pay a hefty penalty as well. So they have no real choice.

Would be nice if the other countries came out in support of Pakistan. If the tournament's not played there then they all pull out. You cannot have one country controlling the rules of an International competition, did we learn nothing from the T20 fiasco?

Just play one tournament without India ffs!!! Pretend we didn't qualify or some ****. As an Indian, I really don't think India team not traveling to Pakistan is unjust on our part, but I also don't think Pakistan shan't host it/move the Final to UAE. It ain't the World Cup, just play without us.
