How many other captains declare when Stokes did in that first Test?

People are ready to jump in on him for Edgbaston. Has to work both ways.
He's better than the average captain at creating wickets on flat tracks too. That's the underrated side of Bazball and something England struggled at in the time before Stokes' captaincy.

Stokes batting numbers are definitely impacted by his style of play. In the Baz ball era he leads from the front with his no fear attacking play. In doing so he regularly throws his wicket away. If he played in a more orthodox way I think he would average low to mid 40s with the bat.

That said ABD is clearly the better batsman.

Stokes averages around the same before and after Bazball so I guess it hasn’t affected his batting
