Yeah Pant couldn't have had a clue whether he hit or not there given he smashed his pad. But there was definitely a deflection.

Nah.. that was clearly bat on pad and there is no way any third umpire could have had enough evidence to overturn the onfield decision. That is just bad bad umpiring.
It did look like the ball deviated a bit after passing the bat, in a manner typical for an edge, so can understand why the umpire may have felt that way. But yeah, enough evidence to overturn?

That is my point. Even if the ball did move, it did not move any more than regular turn would have it move. I just dont think there was a deflection.
