India's done well to pull things back despite having to bat last on a minefield.

Axar would've been a very effective bowler on this track. Plus his batting!why even pick siraj ffs
could have just played axar for more batting
Do you really need 4 spinners though? Just play an extra batsman imo.Axar would've been a very effective bowler on this track. Plus his batting!

No you didn't. You only mentioned his batting. That's what I just said ffs
He's actually shown a happy tendency to gut it out, whatever that means for this generation, for some hard runs this last year. Doesn't mean his tech flaws are going away anytime soon but at least he's shown willingness to be proactive even on that front. Good signs.Your man Shubman Gill the star
What are the kinds of totals defended though, will have to look up. Can remember India defending 106 or so against AUS in 2004 but that pitch was far worse than this one.Not looking great.

India's highest successful chase here is 51 runs while 163 is the highest by any side. There are no other successful 3-digit chases.
IIRC the target for Aus in 2004 was like 105. Fell 15 short. I think that pitch was even more spiteful than this one, though, as even Harbhajan rapidly entering the "doesn't actually turn the ball" phase of his career was able to rissole Aus.Not looking great.

NZ's dropped catches, that's easily worth 30 runs. The turning points of the match were that Gill-Pant partnership and Mitchell+Ravindra throwing away their wickets bazball style.
Gill was dropped on 45 wasn't he? He went on to double that.We have a chance, but think we're 30 runs shy of par given our bowling hasn't been quite as accurate as desired. If only Phillips could have faced another 20 balls batting like that... but it was a beautiful carom ball from Ashwin.
