Bloody difficult wicket for the keepers. Pant's done quite well imo. Some of the difficult takes where he gets blinded by the batsmen don't result in wickets but they're quality.

Its the reason I wont write off the old firm of Jaddu and Ashwin just as yet. Yes, they have not bailed out the batting as they used to, either with bat or ball, but its really the batting (and my pet peeve, the catching) that has let us down all series. They have been trying too hard all series but the moment you give them a par first innings score, you can see how good they are.

The real reason we are screwed is the fact that our two most experienced batters are the ones sucking the most and the third in that line is the promising youngster we just debuted this year.

Ok so are pitches now wildly worse for batting than they’ve been in the last 30 years, or have we just given up on batting? Because the approach and the acceptance of the approach to tough conditions (just slog cos staying in is impossible) is new and tied to a sense of hopelessness that didn’t previously exist?
