Rachin bowled by Washington the same way as Latham, you can't blame me for that one, it was too early in his innings for me to talk him up.

Can’t really blame Latham or Rachin, can’t do much against bowling like that.

Edit: Who is the fat **** getting in Rachin’s face?

Ahh, the Santner news took a bit of air out of the balloon. Sodhi hasn't been the worst Test spinner of late, but I suspect his regular long hops will be capitalised on.

Very good toss to win, so really wanting 330+ which looks a long way away now.

Slightly disappointed Ravindra didn't learn from his last dismissal against the same bowler at Pune, but beautifully bowled Washington.

Mitchell needs a score. He can't dine off that great series he had in England forever.

We need to get to lunch without losing any more wickets, I have more faith in Young being there at lunch than Mitchell on a turning pitch like this one,

Sodhi's very lucky to get a test here, hope he shows he's up to it but I'm not holding my breath. Delport's probably the leading domestic spinner at the moment, and if a leggie were to be selected I'd plump for Ashok over Sodhi.

Good session of cricket, think India would be the slightly happier team having dismissed Rachin as the third wicket. NZ could really use a first second* score in these subcontinent tours from Mitchell.

* forgot his fifty in SL.
