Should eng drop Joe Root for the ashes?

They can’t drop him because as Haddin pointed out on a pod cast last week, their batting strategy revolves around him going big. It falls apart much more often than not when he goes cheaply.

He was comparing it to his time at the mighty Sydney Sixers in that back then everyone would slog recklessly and when it went balls up just say to Smith "Steve, fix this will you please?" It is the same with the hapless, clueless, Neanderthal slogging England engages in. They just lost to Pakistan ffs.

They weren’t far away from losing to Sri Lanka at home tbh

He won't be dropped, but don't rule out a convenient injury for the next Ashes here. It's a tour from hell for him. Apart from Righteous Hero Davey Warner slapping his racist face, every other cricketing nightmare Root has ever had is revisited every time he takes guard in a test match here. He's scared and demoralised at even thethought of facing Australia out here. And so he should be.

Absolutely. Hasn't scored a century in Australia and isn't likely to.

Call someone up from Plymstock 3rd XI.

If Root fails, then England usually fail too. unless his form drops massively he is there for the next 3 years.
