Bumrah/Cummins/Rabada vs Anderson/Pollock/Walsh

Downgrading Trueman is one of the most egregious examples of analysis by checklist on CW. He was the prototype of a modern fast bowler before Lillee. I rate Trueman very very high.
iirc dipping into the whole perception and peer rating pool here Lindwall was always (correctly imo) considered better than Trueman.

I also find this “prototype of a modern fast bowler” bs meaningless when rating players.

His away record can really be considered mediocre. It's not a checklist thing, he bowled in very favorable home pitches for 70% of his matches, bullied a weak NZ away for some and averages 30 against WI and Australia in 16 matches.

Swore I replied to this, but in any event.

Is it analysis by list or is it

1. Acknowledgement that he didn't perform at an ATG level away from home

Or

2. That he was often not even selected when available during his career.

Think they both kind of matter.
