What parts of the game would you like to see return to modern cricket?

Are you serious that you find good short balls aimed at the chest boring??

The last Ashes series had a constant barrage of short pitched bowling with a stacked onside. That was incredibly boring.

No I haven't batted against a leg spinner. I can't understand how Warnie bowling someone around the legs is exciting, but Warnie getting an LBW from outside leg is boring.

I would love to see a trial game with a new LBW rule and see if these dire consequences occur. People keep telling me the offside rule is critical to soccer. Hockey got rid of it and never regretted the change.

Hockey is 5 times boring than it was pre turf in the 70s (given you are talking about field hockey, not ice about which I don't know enough). It's horrible mostly as a spectator, really bland.

Short bowling delivered towards the body by a fiery pacer is a beautiful sight and a fundemental skill you need to hone your batsmanship.

Because Warne used to target the stumps turning it big, not the pads, that it was interesting. Legs are a biological part of a human body, unless you cut them up they will sometimes get in the way. And getting in the way outside the leg stump in 200x more natural than off stump.

You also don't want the offside rule!!!???? Unlike hockey, football is played on a much larger ground with much more room for each player to cover. As the grounds are small in Futsal, they don't need offside. But without offside, a player can just wait in the oppositions box waiting for a long cross, to stop that another player will wait with him; and striker can join him to gain advantage...... Football will all over the place and look like bits and pieces play. Will be horrible game.

Can we bring back whites/creams. Watching India with 3 big blue stripes on shoulder, down body and on legs just looks trash (plus all the advertising badges)

Can't do much about advertisement in this age of consumerism. They will post an ad anywhere given enough money; and honestly, given Tests are less financially viable the ODIs and especially T20s; I don't think cutting the revenue stream furthermore makes sense.

Being that this is a thread about things we'd like to see it's a moot point. The fact we know it's not going to happen doesn't mean the idea's less likeable.

Classical bowling actions.

Although you'd need to reinstate the back-foot no-ball rule for that, and I can only imagine the lengthy arguments it would cause if it was applied as it actually was back then.

I don't watch hockey, but if abolishing the offside rule was such a dud idea, they would have brought it back.

Warnie would target the stumps, but batters pads got in the way. I really don't understand how it could be interesting if he hits the stumps but boring if he got an LBW from a batter sticking his leg in the way.

Do you actually watch cricket? Have you ever played it? Because seriously, from your posting here, I'm doubtful you have. Anyone with more than the most rudimentary understanding of the game can grasp why what you're proposing is a bad idea.

And pertinently, it's not even relevant to the thread.
