South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

It's going to be between Knights, NW & Boland for relegation. It seems like that determines a lot of player movement now.

NW lost important POC and it could effect them this season. A surplus of white players who need to be playing like van Tonder, de Swardt and Gideon Peters.

Good start to Forrester's Div 1 career.

He went to Affies but I think he is originally from Limpopo Province like Dale Steyn and Marchant De Lange.
This is where loan system is useful, trade them loan etc for a better poc,

I look at this list and the only surprises are Hendricks and Magala for me? De Zorzi hasn't figured out T20 batting. I watched every game he played for DSG last year.

Settling down and watching the Dolphins match. Haven't gone to the stadium yet but the Dolphins being pants this season hasn't helped. Jason Smith playing with some freedom today and Simelane is definitely exciting. Phelukwayo needs to watch his back!

Can someone explain to me what coaches see in Abdullah Bayoumy for Western province , he barely bowls and batting at 7 he doesn't seem like he can hit out in a t20 also so what is his value fielding? Also is Dian Forrester injured?

Interestingly province's only decent batsmen this t20 is almost single handling winning game for us 82 runs coming it at number 4, needing 146.

Agreed on Bayoumy. He has a lot to do to prove to me he is the answer. They tried to replace him with Juan James in Durban but he clearly has injury issues and had to retire hurt there & couldn't bowl.

Forrester isn't injured. But I get the feeling there is a large rotation with white players this season so far as one's with ability also sit out, so they trying to keep everyone happy.

Apologies if wasn't clear

He was batting on 3* off 3 and walked off and didn't bowl. They seemed to be working with his knee.
That's a pity what did Bayoumy do at school level or post school to get into provincial cricket is he a batter, bowler, fielder ? Iv seen him do nothing atleast kitme is making some 20s this season in t20.

He was in the SA U19 squad during COVID.

His strengths there were clearing the ropes & bowls a few meds. Wouldn't say he has a chance of playing FC cricket. Pure white-ball.
