Kane Williamson not in league of other elite test batters

Good batting by Ravindra. NZ need to fight back, this is a golden opportunity to win, can't leave it. They won't get anything as good.

Both Amla and Cook have played significant knocks in Australia, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka and England which Williamson has lacked.

Williamson is better in home conditions and against weaker nations such as Windies, Zimbabwe etc. He has been excellent vs Pakistan too but is that enough? I don't think so.

Vs top 6 nations( excluding WI, BD, Zim) in away and neutral venue,

Amla - 49
Cook - 44
Williamson - 40

Like Williamson, Amla also batted at 3 for most part.

Kane's 2018 UAE tour was very creditable. Probably his best overseas series performance. The WI tour of 2014 also came against a respectable attack on some surfaces with life. WI were very poor with the kookaburra ball in New Zealand though.

There's been a hint of it throughout his career, but Williamson from 2019 onwards has absolutely pulverised poor attacks and has generally struggled against good ones. Unfortunate that his sample size of opportunities against good attacks and in tough conditions esp away from home has been somewhat restricted, but that has equally helped his career average and you can only go by what someone has done in the end.

I said batting top 3 in NZ is easier than those 4 countries, not sure why you're showing me 4-7. Obviously it's easier batting down the order. That applies anywhere in the world not just NZ.

I checked anyways and batting averages for the top 3 in NZ, Aus, Ind, SA and Eng in that same time period are all thereabouts in the 25-30 range with SA and Eng at either end so what I said was wrong if you take the numbers at face value.

KW should definitely get extra credit for batting in the top 3. I just don't think you need to bring up NZ specifically as if it's harder to bat there than anywhere else.

Because the stats you referred to weren't at all about the top 3 and the ones I showed were. Batting in the top 3 is harder in NZ. Meanwhile you're acting like the bowling figures that show the numbers are all within 1-2 are definitive for your point.
