America's Cup 2024

Poms won 2 races overnight (their 1st wins in the America's Cup in 90 years). It is now 4-2. Game on.
The first wasn't really a race as NZ came off their foils before the start and didn't get going again until GB were long gone. It was quite amusing watching GB continuously sail back and forth past them making it hard for them to get back up. The second though saw GB largely outsail NZ on the opening couple of legs, thus grabbing the lead which is generally decisive.

These boats are obviously technical marvels but the lack of close racing must be a worry

I assume that they’re far less manoeuvrable than the cats so tacking duels very rarely occur plus they generally all take the same line with the leader sailing off into the distance

Which summed up yesterday’s racing. NZ a bit quicker off the start, forces GB into different path, they never see each other again. Should end today….

Haven’t done any research but have no idea why they moved away from multihulls as they’re the future

We have a cat and it has much more usable space than a monohull and it’s much quicker

Really is no comparison
