Can actually see why they wanted to pick three spinners tbh. This is doing quite a lot for what is effectively a first day surface.

Rachin Ravindra playing straight, he knows what is required, an old head on young shoulders, no fancy reverse sweeps from him.

I'd prefer a reverse sweep to the shot he just tried to play.
He looks better when he is playing attacking shots but now is not the time for those shots., it's time to knuckle down and defend like Smithy is saying.

The Black Caps have won this day, we don't want to throw it away with some stupid late wickets.

As ever, there needs to be some effort to establish an actual objective standard for bad light. Can't just be random whims.

Unbelievable day for NZ and typically I watched all of one over of it on mobile, when I should have been at the stadium. Work getting in the way.

Just reward for Henry and O’Rourke, got the right conditions but you still have to make them count. Great to see Conway get some runs though looks like he threw away the chance of a century.

India must be livid at how things played out, but can’t elect to bat first and immediately look to counterattack (if getting through the initial session was the plan). They’re still well capable of clawing back so NZ need the big lead.

Whatever it takes!!!
What a day. I was never too fussed with the Adelaide collapse as it was really flukey combo of amazing bowling and every nick finding the fielder or every ball finding the edge etc. Here I do think it was a bit like that after the 30/3 but the point is we should have never gotten to 30/3 in the first place with the luck we had.

Henry and O'Rourke were amazing and so was Conway. But we really let ourselves down today all day, starting with the silly decisions and ending ultimately with 5 missed chances. If they were 150/8 the day would still feel a lot different. It will be a test of character for this team tomorrow. If they can keep the lead to within 225 and try to bat and put up 400.

As an India fan, I don't want them to "claw back" into this, as if that's even a remote possibility here. Sometimes decisions and then the application or lack thereof to back up those decisions is so egregious and inexcusable that it deserves nothing less than a humiliating defeat, if only to preserve the moral order of the universe. So yes, **** Team India for now, hope they learn something from this self-inflicted mess.
