Maybe we should put up the final top 100 in a new thread and allow for debates. Thanks @capt_Luffy for running this. I didn't vote after first 3 rounds but followed this thread closely. Great effort. I think this is the first time we have collectively made a top 100 list at CW like this.

I don't personally believe a cricketer list can ever be accurately done because Batsmen vs Bowler comparisions are very, very tricky.

Unsure if they were used outside the Ashes but Anderson wasn’t picked for 05 was he?

12th man for four tests then when we lost a bowler to injury we played a batsman instead

Yikes, what a fall off, and this is like 60-70% of his career, his ability to bowl away from home also completely dissipated.

That was propped up v Zimbabwe& Bangladesh too. I know Zimbabwe had Flower but their batting was still weak overall.

I didn't mention it because I was sure someone would bring up home conditions and pretend 90s pak didn't have any advantage for reverse swing specialists, but his record outside of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the same time is actually shocking

Personally don't rate merchant anywhere close to Barry or WG. Would rate Hazare ahead of merchant.
WG was twice as dominant as a batsman compared to his contemporaries and was good enough to take 2800+ wickets in FC.
And Barry was rated very highly by the ones he played against.
