The thread is specified to their weaknesses, so say Ponting is batting on a Spin-friendly wicket against Muralitharan/Warne/O Reilly while Dravid is batting on a bounce friendly wicket against Donald/Ambrose/Garner, who'll be more successful?

More or less, Ponting's ability against Spin vs Dravid's ability against Bounce.

Seeing as you left Harbhajan out of the people bowling to Ponting, I'd say he will be fine. He played Murali really well, he just sucked in India, especially early in his career. Weirdly got better there as he declined every place else. Why anyone would want to spend more time there as they go along instead of getting out sooner is beyond me, but I suppose everyone is different.

wait what? Ponting retired like a few years ago, you haven't seen him play?
12 years ago. Not surprising that someone in their late teens to early twenties may not remember him. Obviously one can look at his highlights but that’s not the same.

Ponting tackled Murali quite well. Problems in India seem more specific to the spinners and conditions there than a general spin weakness.

Dravid though was found wanting versus bounce many times in his career.
