2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Qld in deep trouble in the one-day Cup. 3 games with 2 losses and a washout. There's only 7 games in the whole comp so Qld need to win everything from here on

Maxwell is supposed to be playing in the Vic 2nd XI today but I don't see his name on the scorecard?

Also what a strange score, Qld 0-20 off 4 overs with 13 extras (1 wide, 4 no balls, 8 byes)

Edit: now 12 byes in 6 overs

Well that sucks, but long term probably the best thing for him rather than trying to play through as a batsman and potentially make things worse.
Yeah I think it's the best thing really, hopefully the surgery helps as much as it did for Matt Henry.

Makes selection slightly easier as well - move Smith back to four and pick an opener. Hopefully someone other than Harris-at-Junction-Oval makes some runs in the position so they don't over-react to a couple of games and say he's the "form contender" or some such nonsense.

Upcoming squads announced:

Australia ODI squad: Pat Cummins (c), Sean Abbott, Cooper Connolly, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardie, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa

Australia A squad: Nathan McSweeney (c), Cameron Bancroft, Scott Boland, Jordan Buckingham, Cooper Connolly, Ollie Davies, Marcus Harris, Sam Konstas, Nathan McAndrew, Michael Neser, Todd Murphy, Fergus O’Neill, Jimmy Peirson, Josh Philippe, Corey Rocchiccioli, Mark Steketee, Beau Webster

Stoinis back in the ODI side. Konstas has gotten an A callup along with davies. Seems like renshaw has fallen out of favour. Fergus and roccchiccioli also both got an A call up. Hardie playing random white ball cricket just after he had an injury scare is annoying. Should be playing for Aus-A.

Aside from the question of why this series exists at all, it's like they're deliberately trying to not develop Hardie as a potential test player. Stupid.

What's a bet they put Konstas in the limited over squads within a year's time?

And why is Smith still in the ODI squad? He needs some low pressure time.

Neat trick having Cooper Connolly in both the ODI and Australia A squads that play games simultaneously

Well that's Renshaw done.
