It sucks they have not moved on from the age old practice of every center gets a test. At the very least, they should make the qualification to be a test center more rigid. And also only let those out to the ACB and others who wanna stage games here.

It is bound to work as Mayank is reasonably accurate & has come through a proper system unlike Umran who was mostly a freak literally with no domestic or any sorta experience.
Further People forget Mayank is taller & has higher release points which give him edge over Umran who is a short skiddy pacer whose bouncers aren't threatening

Umran can only become effective if he models himself up on Waqar who had similar action and release points & bowl full and fast majority of the time & try to seam the ball as well off the pitch.Hope both mayank and umran become frontline pacers for us
There were reports that he is working on that in NCA. Learning to move the ball.
He will never be a hit the deck enforcer & bowl bouncer barrage, his bumper simply wouldn't rise & will be hittable easily coz he is short in stature & release point is low.
That's where Mayank is different & has massive edge over him. He can do all that which Umran can't.
H Rana can also bowl around 145k and is a tall pacer who has serious hit the deck skills as we have seen in domestic cricket. Dude is a workhorse.
Genuine Fast bowling has so many little things that eventually matter.
H Rana is a bit like Will O Rourke skill wise. He will be gun.

There should be around 10 fixed venues for Test cricket in India, instead of like 15-20 venues. Only the best should be hosting.
Something like-
Delhi
Mumbai
Chennai
Bengaluru
Kolkata
Ahmedabad
Ranchi
Dharmashala
Lucknow
Hyderabad/Nagpur/Vizag
Covers the main/good venues as well as more balanced distribution across the country.

As shitty as Rahul is, Hardik is not a better batsman than Pant and we don't need six bowlers. Unless Hardik can replace Siraj with his bowling, I won't get him in my team.

Hopefully this is Shakib's last test. Absolutely irresponsible that shot coming down the wicket playing one handed loft. Time to drop him even if hes available for SA series.
