Depends on the context really. Bhajji's 7-fers or whatever in that high scoring Chennai game of 01 were still invaluable. Cuts both ways though and I acknowledge the point. But fair or not, hundreds and five-fers are traditional milestones that unequivocally cement a player's legacy and it would be nice to see Ashwin play all five Tests in Oz this time and come away with a 25-wicket kitty.
Yes. A fifer is simply a standard milestone. If a SC batsman played 25 tests like Ashwin in SENA and never scored a ton, I am sure we would have issues.

Hopefully Ashwin can break this curse this coming tour.

Would be nice if people could post something worth considering rather than partisan nonsense made up to denigrate Ashwin for no reason other than being a hater. Especially when as 'fans' they decide to ignore context around spin bowling in the current era. Might as well say you don't know cricket.

honestbharani

Whatever it takes!!!
I mean, if anyone actually watched the cricket they claim to be "neutal fans" of, they would know Ash has EASILY been the best spinner since Murali and Warne. Every other idiocy brought up is just that, idiotic drivel possibly backed by partisan or some other bias.

Still would rather have Lyon in my team.

International Vice-Captain
I am pretty confident that subshakerz hates honestbharani..... Can't think of any other reason behind attacking Lara and Ashwin, two of HH's favourite players, with such passion.
Subs has said Lara is his favorite batsman tho

No bro, not saying that Lara should change his approach. But that Tendulkar had a more secure approach when facing quality fastmen.

Btw Lara is my favorite batsman of all-time.

Ashwin -
62 of 62 home games played.
71 of 71 games played in Asia.
31 of 55 games played outside Asia.
Yeah, ppl denying this is the equivalent of kids plugging their ears going "na nana na na". Part of being the greatest, probably the biggest part of all, in any endeavor really, is making yourself undeniable. Mealymouthed digressions over context don't change this.
