I think Shoaibs 12 5fers and 10 4fers are more impressive than Philander’s 13 5fers and 8 4fers considering the conditions they both played in

It’s not like Shoaib took under 100 wickets. He had a good enough career to be rated higher than Philander.

Shoaib was a glass canon. While I think Subs takes it to the extreme, it really is true that Akhtar missed far too many matches to be called reliable.

Yeah.

Akhtar only played in 49% of Pakistan’s matches between his debut and retirement. Not as bad as Bond (28%) but still pretty awful.
