No point picking Kapil

Can go Waqar with Ashwin/Kumble as well dropping Kapil. Akram is a decent enough bat at 8 so it works as well.
If it is a green top in SENA conditions, Kapil would a valuable addition I feel with a genuinely good 4th bowling option alongwith adding handy batting depth too.

He was awful in England, New Zealand and South Africa in his career. (granted SA was only at the very end). He performed better in Australian and Windies conditions, harder and bouncier pitches.

If you were worried about conditions outside Asia you could probs go Waqar in Asia and Bumrah anywhere else at this point. His record is almost all outside Asia.

I would go for Bumrah over Kapil definitely as a pure bowler. Only reason for Kapil was adding batting depth.

The D team looks more dangerous than the C team to me ngl . Also maybe put in another pace all rounder like Irfan instead of Salim in team D and take 3 pacers in the team.

Yeah, I get the sentiment; but Irfan is a quite significant downgrade on any bowler their and the batting will turn too weak.

Then probably take Zaheer for one of the spinners. Need 3 pacers imo and Jayasuriya can be the second spinner if required.

I think Kumble is a better allround spinner than Ashwin but he will hardly bowl outside SC outside of the four better bowlers, and Ashwin and Murali with the reversers will make this team unbeatable in the SC.

Jadeja is a decent shout but he is not an instant win as spinner in the SC as Ashwin.

Not convinced of Sehwag outside of the SC, at least Anwar makes the bolwers shift lines.

Not much between Miandad and Younis, but Younis is one of the best 3 if not 2 slip fielders from the SC.

Bumrah probably better with the new ball and overall that Waqar, at least in my estimation.
