Greenidge. This comparison is an insult to him.
why? it's not like Greenidge is averaging 55 or smth that comparing him to a 48 averaging batsmen is disrespectful to him. Boycott averages 3 runs higher, as a 40-Year-Old he put performances against the Windies pace battery and so forth.

the comparision is warranted.

Yeah but there was a 15 point difference in SR so thats all that matters.

Think that on their quest to prove that strike rate doenst matter, Luffy and Coronis and just taking the argument to the extremes. Greenidge had a Ponting level precipitous decline at the end, but was a quality batsman not far from Gavaskar at their best, but eye problems doomed his latter days.

It's for to the point where some are not only not rewarding more attacking or adaptable batsmen, it's to the point where some are apparently attempting to punish them for it.

Coronis and Captain Luffy's understanding of cricket is to look at averages on cricinfo. Nothing beyond that.

@Coronis looks like we should ignore everything from Average, longevity and record across conditions and just declare comparing Greenidge to Boycott an "insult".

You’re absolutely 100% right. Boycott had a better peak, better longevity, a better overall record, a better away record, scored tons more often, scored fifties more often. In this case I am being completely unfair voting for him over Greenidge, just for SR spite.

I am ashamed.

At least when you do so by your own two eyes and don't let inherent biases influence your feelings..... But well, that's literally too much to ask for really from some people.

That's what my HR person told me in DEI training
