Congrats to Bangladesh.
How does their victory compare to SL in SA and India in Aus?

Nah Sri Lanka played no matches in the Highveld region or Cape Town. They were given less preferred venues that were not conducive to SA's play.Respectfully, it's close but I'd still say SL winning in RSA was the biggest upset for me.
Either biggest upset or most epic.By 'greatest' do you just mean 'least likely?'
Nah that SL team on paper should not have come close to the SA side and they were both fairly sporting test wickets.Nah Sri Lanka played no matches in the Highveld region or Cape Town. They were given less preferred venues that were not conducive to SA's play.
South Africa invited them again 2 years later and played them in Cape Town and in Highveld, Centurion. SL were thrashed by an innings in one test and by 10 wickets in the other.
So IMO although it was a historic series win for SL, it felt a little incomplete because of the venues.
Doesn't matter where they played. SL beat RSA chasing 300+ vs an attack of Steyn, Rabada, Philander. Then were behind for most of the 2nd test and had no business winning that either. SL swept RSA away where if I can recall only great Australian team has ever done that.Nah Sri Lanka played no matches in the Highveld region or Cape Town. Anyway you spin it, that Sri Lankan chase is probably the greatest in history, as is Perera's 153*.Dale Steyn was a shadow of his former self (besides other players who were in the same boat). That was his last series. So let's not exaggerate looking at names only.
Six months prior to SL's win in SA,
SL had beaten SA in Sri Lanka too by the same margin.
Sri Lanka had also won a test in South Africa before in 2011 on the back of Herath's big haul at the same venue - Durban!
They’ve won multiple but ok.It does matter where you play. Winning in typical SA conditions vs conditions which are helping your spinners too is a notable difference. SL doesn't win the series even if 1 match was in Cape Town, Johannesburg or Centurion. They didn't overcome typical or usual SA conditions. Thats what winning away is essentially about. We are comparing greatest away wins and these things matter in this discussion.
Philander had broken down, which played a part in SL chasing the 300 total.
Bangladesh winning in Pakistan and that too on pitches that had far less assistance for spinners compared to pacers is a bigger achievement than SL's in SA.
Bangladesh had never won a series away.
SL had already won series in England, NZ, etc.
Umm no. Wrong again.Anyway you spin it, that Sri Lankan chase is probably the greatest in history, as is Perera's 153*.
Nah. He had far more luck in that innings.Umm no. Wrong again.
England & Ben Stokes' chase at Headingley is the best of all time.
Nope. One of rare instances I have watched both mostly ball to ball, and SL with Perera chasing that monster down away was definitely ahead of Stokes' in Headingley.Umm no. Wrong again.

That LBW.....Nah. He had far more luck in that innings.
And the missed run out. That LBW.....
