This is such an annoying side for me as I want to include 4 openers on merit – maybe even 5 counting Jimmy Cook – and that's not counting Amla or Taylor!

If you aren't counting Taylor and Jimmy, then I can't guess the 4th one.....

On that one as well I would had preferred Faulkner or Pollock for Waite..... Really think ABD should had made it as keeper

Overkill on the all rounders. Procter and Kallis provides enough cover to bring in a specialist bat over Faulkner.

Could argue that. But if ABD was in for Waite, I would had really liked this very balanced bowling attack (would had preferred Procter for Pollock, but that one is difficult to explain).

The post was not about who i voted for, it was a statement saying that no way is Sean Pollock better than Mike Procter, saw them both at their peak. Polly was a world class bowler and useful batsman, Procky was a genuine world class all rounder,

Better bowler? Arguable. Pollock is widely underrated for a bowler averaging less than Lillee over 15 years and a hundred Tests

Better batsman and fielder? Definitely.

But then again, Procter played only 7 matches, Polly over a hundred. That's a significant thing imo (though I still voted for Procter).

We are arguing about the validity of our side. I like Procter more, but can totally understand why people choose Pollock

Faulkner's only slightly worse than ABdV as a batter, and he affords the opportunity of a 4–2 attack which is really objectively the perfect bowling configuration.
