Playing Lancs next which will increase their chances of staying up
I wonder what Lancashire supporters think of them continuing to bat 16 year old Rocky Flintoff at number 4. My impression is that he's out of his depth there and it might do him more harm than good. As well as not really helping their own chances of survival this year.

Was this the first round when the Kookaburra experiment worked as planned? Lots of spin was bowled and several spinners took five and ten wicket hauls. Only three of the matches were drawn, despite some heavier scoring.

What was interesting was that the 'right' names if you know what I mean took the wickets. Leach probably guaranteed himself a spot for the Pakistan Tour. Carson won't be losing his Lions spot and will continue to be considered for higher squads. Farhan is clearly a great prospect and even Jacks reminded us of his all round abilities.

And Liam Dawson keeps letting the selectors know he can bat and bowl.

The problem you identify resolves around the engagement of the overseas player to replace Tom Bruce (allowed to stay at home after the birth of his second child) who is in effect a specialist batsmen but is hiding at no.8 that sort of recruitment has knock on implications.

Mohammad Ali was also all set to join but was drafted into the Pakistan Test team at the last moment as injury cover. So the now departed shirt selling short term replacement was meant to provide additional batting. Meant to: FC ave 20.25, OD Cup ave 13.60 (!)

But just think of the billion or so emails and mobile numbers harvested whenever the "win his sign shirt" is promoted on Lancs TV and Social Media. Priorities?

Talk of an overseas quick to replace him. I guess if the overseas bats at 8 he might as will be a bowler.

Should that read Surrey 3rd XI?

Looks like it. Only half of them played when I watched them in a one day cup match last month and that was close to being a second XI. Perhaps they should have joined up with another county, like Kent & Essex

I dunno who got there first but both Ingram and Higgins reached 1000+ runs during the last round.

It annoying that the FC averages are divided into div 1 and div2, someone should put them together so i dont have to look in 4 places.

Matt Walker leaving as Kent coach at the end of the season. Hopefully, the start of a real shake-up.
