I’d say Root MOTM, because without his first innings the match goes very differently. Still, can’t be often someone with one of their achievements in this match would miss out on MOTM. Though of course Strauss didn’t get it in THAT test

Well that’s it, game over, series sealed, by a closer margin than the Windies in the second Test, but it never felt as competitive as that. Struggling to say it would have made the difference, after all, Root was imperious and the extra seamer helped, but it would have been so much closer if Dhananjaya hadn’t blobbed the toss
