English Domestic Season 2024

Harmer's gone now, but Snater's no mug with the bat either.

Elsewhere, Surrey have indeed declared setting a target of 298 in 48 overs.
Notts have the advantage of knowing already Lancs have lost so probably won't go after that chase too hard and take what would be a good draw against Surrey.

Durham had to beat 13 in this round unfortunately.

Umpires had an absolute shocker with their LBW decisions in the first innings which saw Somerset gain a good 200+ extra runs and putting Durham back out to bat last night in darker conditions than they'd left the fielder under.

Fingers crossed Notts don't win and compound Worcs jumping above us.

Unless Surrey's spinners start pitching the ball instead of sending down a stream of full tosses, Notts just might. Steel especially culpable, as he was in the first innings. Come back Dan Moriarty, all is forgiven.

Elsewhere, Worcs have just beaten Essex.

Got to say well played to Worcester. They've spent several seasons having their best players poached (especially by Notts) but they look like surviving this year at the expense of more established clubs.

Huge win for the Worcester boys today. You've got to think that massively increases our odds of staying up.

Lets hope Worc stay up, would be great for the competition.
Sussex winning over Derbyshire puts them now in a great position to be promoted, likely as champions.

Middlesex did well to bat for 2 days to get a draw after Yorkshire scored 600. Pitch seemed flat from reading the scorecards. But crucial not to lose.

Fascinating run in. I do feel though that Middlesex could have done with edging that given that they go to Sussex last game. Mind you, no telling what havoc the weather may wreak in the next few weeks.
