PlayerComparisons
International Vice-Captain
This topic popped up in another thread so thought I’d make a poll
I really hate this trend that inside and outside of Asia is the be all and end all.Outside Asia, Younis averages 39 while Dravid averages 53.
Dravid vs Root would be a better shout in my opinion. Both top players and failed only in one country - Dravid in SA and Root in Aus.
Younis only failed in SA tooOutside Asia, Younis averages 39 while Dravid averages 53.

And Windies. I think he had a hard time vs Ambrose and Walsh early in his career but he never scored enough to improve his record there.Younis only failed in SA too
So Dravid struggled in SA and SL while Younis struggled in SA and WIAnd Windies. I think he had a hard time vs Ambrose and Walsh early in his career but he never scored enough to improve his record there.
Does guy mean cow?YK is my guy
Doesn’t count cos SL is in AsiaSo Dravid struggled in SA and SL while Younis struggled in SA and WI
If they have identical records and Dravid is better on eye Test, then how come Younis is better and it's not close??If we’re just looking at their records, I think there’s not much difference between them
Dravid looks better on the eyetest tho
Pity voteIf they have identical records and Dravid is better on eye Test, then how come Younis is better and it's not close??
He is close. He just didn't get enough long tours abroad to demonstrate.Younis isn't even close to Dravid ngl
think Dravid's edge against swing and seam off the pitch movement is pretty high, a bit better against bounce for me while Younis obviously better against spin.so 2-1.He is close. He just didn't get enough long tours abroad to demonstrate.
Better player of spin. I wouldn't even count him as worse against pace and bounce. Dravid much better with lateral though.
Younis had an extra gear of aggression once settled though unlike Dravid. Would still give it to Dravid for his grit and lateral movement stuff but it's definitely close.think Dravid's edge against swing and seam off the pitch movement is pretty high, a bit better against bounce for me while Younis obviously better against spin.so 2-1.
Dravid has 90s record tho to cancel out an extra gear argumentYounis had an extra gear of aggression once settled though unlike Dravid. Would still give it to Dravid for his grit and lateral movement stuff but it's definitely close.
True. He had some really solid stuff that decade whereas Younis was all flat bat era.Dravid has 90s record tho to cancel out an extra gear argument
Agreed. Definitely close.Younis had an extra gear of aggression once settled though unlike Dravid. Would still give it to Dravid for his grit and lateral movement stuff but it's definitely close.
Dravid better v all kinds of pace I think but Younis was better v spinHe is close. He just didn't get enough long tours abroad to demonstrate.
