Smith and the tail seem to have taken it away from us this morning. Needed to get them out for lower than that to give ourselves a chance.

This is a sad summer of cricket.

The 2 Surrey lads look good finds though. Tougher tests await down the line.
A couple of hours ago we had a game on our hands, it’s all gone south for Sri Lanka this session. I will say that the first Test of West Indies series was over by now, hopefully they grow into the series (especially their top order), because if the Windies can be competitive at times, Sri Lanka can push England further

Domestic game all over the shop because of The Hundred.

Tests shoehorned in either side of the Hundred.

A pointless white ball series in September that will stop England players playing in Blast Finals day and the One Day Cup Final. (both finals taking place at the end of September despite all the group games being played in June/July and August.)

Then back to the tests we've got two massively under-prepared touring sides that were always going to struggle.

But then there's zero time for them to get prepared because the calendar has to shoehorn in as much pointless white ball cricket. That the game needs to survive because 3 nations and the ICC are greedy.

There's one of those 3 significantly ahead of the other 2. It has the power to stop all International Cricket whilst it plays its T20 behemoth whilst it can seemingly even choose semi final locations in ICC Events!!

The fact that the ECB is trying to sell its Franchises to the IPL sums it up.
