Good on SL here. They have found a way to maximize their strengths . The bowling and Vandersay will be rightfully praised but I think the batting with all those starts was actually good. They capitalized on batting first and kept playing the percentages really well. Even though they lost wickets in a bunch a few times, they were always playing with soft hands and nudging the ball around without taking too many big risks.
I guess with the evenings and lights, the ball skids on a bit and the wicket is still sticky and turning and that is a hard proposition to play skiddly spinners on. Very reminiscent of the days they used to Mendis & Murali us after winning the toss and batting first.
