Good on SL here. They have found a way to maximize their strengths . The bowling and Vandersay will be rightfully praised but I think the batting with all those starts was actually good. They capitalized on batting first and kept playing the percentages really well. Even though they lost wickets in a bunch a few times, they were always playing with soft hands and nudging the ball around without taking too many big risks.

I guess with the evenings and lights, the ball skids on a bit and the wicket is still sticky and turning and that is a hard proposition to play skiddly spinners on. Very reminiscent of the days they used to Mendis & Murali us after winning the toss and batting first.

Huge win for Sri Lankan cricket , we can't lose the series now so already a confidence booster ..Restricting a world class batting outfit like India is a great effort ..Take a bow Vandersay , filled in the huge void left by Hasaranga ..

Great captaincy by Asalanka , when Rohit was punishing us with hit after hit he never let the team feel deflated, kept the faith in the bowlers and they did the job..

Wellalage continues to grow we need to keep faith in these young guns even in hard times

How long are we going to keep Jaiswal out of the ODI setup and why? Good enough for Tests and T20s but not the middle format?

SL seemed to think they were playing Bangladesh out there. Some comically ott aggro from them but I guess whatever helps to cross the finish line.

Nice to see a leggie take a fifer against India. A very rare feat. The last time was Dananjaya 7 years ago when he went to leg breaks during the game, and Vandersay is only the 10th spinner to take five wickets or more in a ODI against India.
