Ponting's batting or Ambrose's bowling?

The only place where Ponting performed poorly overall was in India, where he scored 662 runs @26.5, although his performance was very good against them at home.

Ambrose didn't play in India but played 9 matches against them and took 15 wickets @38. Still pretty decent for your worst performance.

Ambrose is unproven in the SC.

He's not unproven he just didn't play in India. He played 5 tests in Pakistan and one in SL. We agreed a few months back that 5 is the bare minimum for a sample size vs a particular team.
