As Test cricketers, Stokes very comfortably. Dhoni only has one century outside of India (in Pakistan). Obviously, Gilchrist has changed all expectations of what a wicketkeeper could do, but still. If you are building a Test side, you'd pick stokes well before Dhoni.
No, in tests Dhoni isn't that far behind Watling and Watling is obviously well ahead of Stokes.

Do you mean his bowling game to game or more in general?

Either way I disagree. Typically when he is on to bowl he is looking to make something happen and more often than not he does. He's not coming on to keep it tight, eat up some overs and give the main bowlers a rest.
I mostly meant as a batsman, and I don't rate Stokes the bowler much highly.

If I never watched cricket and your posts were my only insight, I would think New Zealand have won every game they've ever played and England have lost every game they've ever played. Keep it up.
But I do genuinely think Watling isn't too behind Stokes in Tests..... Yes, he has some excellent, some even ATG knocks in high pressure situation, but his overall record against Australia, India and NZ is quite poor. Too inconsistent imo. But yeah, will still keep him ahead for now of both in Tests.

Just think to say Watling is "obviously well ahead" is verging on pathetic tbh. Comparing the value of wicket-keeping to an old ball bowler is difficult though. As a batsman, I would take Stokes even though I agree he's underachieved.
