I'm wondering what's the point of Labuschagne becoming Qld captain? Surely he'd captain for 2 or 3 games at most (he played only 2 shield games last season)

NSW's batting still looks woeful when you take out the international players,

Time for Campbell Kellaway to stop "looking promising" and actually make some runs this season.

Who's getting selected for the white ball tours prior to domestic season?

Scotland - 3 ODI's - 4-7 Sep
England - 3 T20's - 11-15 Sep
England- 5 ODI's - 19- 29 Sep

Of the 17 players in T20 WC squad/reserves

Non-selections?
Warner is retired and I think Wade and Agar are finished? Stoinis and David no longer ODI players?

Possible locks as non-Test players?
McGurk, Short, Maxwell, Inglis, Ellis, Zampa.
Stoinis and David T20 only?

T20WC Test players maybe rested for India?
Head, Marsh, Green, Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood

Other ODI incumbants
Labuschagne, Smith, Hardie, Abbott, Sutherland, Bartlett, Morris

Ide like to see davies in somewhere. His Whiteball numbers aren't as good as his red ball numbers but he's one of the best young batsmen in the country. Need to be blooding him. Especially with Maxwell retiring. We need somoene who can play spin in the middle order.

I'm sure the best young guns will be included: McGurk, Hardie, Davies, Bartlett, Morris and Sutherland

Who's the best young keeper to back up Inglis? I actually have no clue who's next in line for white ball assuming they've moved on from Carey and Wade

It's probably Philippe? He got the call up when inglis was rested in India.

Or Ben McDermott maybe but he wasn't still keeping for Queensland last season IIRC. I'm sure he could do a good job in white-ball though. Probably as good as Philippe anyway.

So I'm guessing there isn't an up and coming young keeper. To me Phillipe and McDermott are more batsmen that can keep for T20 rather than ODI's?

Looking at Marsh cup last year, main keepers are Pierson, Gilkes, Philippe, Harper, Nielsen and Jewell (Carey and Wade played a couple). So probably does point to Philippe getting the back-up spot

I got this from Cricinfo but it appears every other site says Scotland is 3 T20I's, not ODI's (which cricinfo still says)

I thought it was strange putting a T20 series in between 2 ODI series. Makes more sense now having back to back T20 series then bring in the ODI squad

The comb should have tried converting to opener

Hate his technique but he’s a better cricketer than Harris

Yep, he's scored 7 50+ scores in 10 innings. At 33 he still must be up there as next middle order bat for Aus now that Renshaw crashed and burned again (unless they go with youth in Davies)
