This and the last ODI WC have set a cleat precedent:
Afganistan>Australia>>England

ENG lost to AUS at both events and to AFG in the ODI WC, and AFG would have beaten Australia in both if Maxwell didn't produce the greatest innings ever.

Catching/fielding is one of the first things that goes in an old side and Australia are an old side (as are England and to a lesser extent India) and the rebuild of all will be interesting.
And NZ.

Our fielding is terrible now. I think we've dropped more catches in the last 12 months than we had in previous 5 years.

The reaction from some of the English fans in here highlighting exactly why we should have lost to Scotland.

Good luck in the semis boys, and you are welcome once again. Like the Virgin Mary, Australia gave birth to the miracle that is England's ongoing WC campaign. We can't take all the credit, but I reckon 99% of England's victories thus far are down to us.

Unfortunately, like Jesus, we now look at the ginger-haired, picket-fence toothed celebrations going on and wish we had nailed England to the cross.

I think I'd almost sacrifice Eng's progression for the Lol's of Australia losing to Scotland and Afghanistan AND having the stench of match fixing around there necks.

I'm mean this is beutifull but the above would have been perfect.

Nice of Paul McCartney to release this song today acknowledging our efforts in England's campaign

That would be Sir Paul McCartney to you pleb.

But seriously, Cricket fans the world over do owe Australia a debt of thanks.......this thread would not have been possible without you and it's been so much fun. So thank you....from the bottom of my heart (and Sir Pauls)
