How much did slip cordons affect McGrath's and Wasim's records?

I mean, McGrath also had pretty decent support at home.... Don't again want to bring up the 1999 Sachin outs
The main impediment to Tendulkar doing better in that series was he couldn't cope with the captaincy owing to his mental fragility. The Adealide lbw was out every day of the week. Cry more.

Captaincy had little effect on his batting form.

Tendulkar won the MoTS in that series..... You can do better than defending some of those outs; like venting on the current Aussies missing out the semis for the Afghans.....

Nah he was nowhere near mots, was a sympathy vote like Vaughan in 02/03. If you’re playing among utter filth then anything half decent stands out.

MoTS MoTS MoTS...... Whatever, anyone with eyes could had seen they weren't outs. But on point with Aussie game; with fair umpiring they can't even win against India at home anymore......

What has happened to you ?
Didn’t they beat us in WC final just 6 months ago in front of 100000 people 😑

I think if Pant plays and is near his best you guys will still be favourites. Our top order looks meh and Marsh will probably start at six so am not sold on that line up against India’s bowlers across a whole series

Just to highlight, if we assume that Wasim suffered an extra drop once every three games, with those extra wickets Wasim's average jumps down to 21 and SR of 50 with a healthy 4+ WPM. Suddenly he compares very well with top tiers.

Point being he may have been even more excellent than we are taking him for.

Or if Pakistan had good slip fielders , Akram wouldn’t have developed his killer yorkers .

This is not a good thread . McGrath was a better bowler than Akram . And threads like these will only result in posters fighting unnecessary battles .
Nobody is arguing here for Akram being better than McGrath. But the inherent bias against those pacers who may not have had the best support to succeed.

Our batting is also highly questionable. And Cummins is a very good Test captain. I this you guys start as favourites 60-40 .
