Match #45- Super Eights, England vs South Africa(D), Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium, Saint Lucia-- June 21st- Group 2

England need to win vs USA by 10 runs or chase in 19 overs for their NRR to be above SA .
If it's a shortened game (as seems possible), they'd need to win by just 3 runs in a 10 over match or pretty much any kind of win in a 5 over game.

Chances are, so long as it's not rained off, England will qualify with a win over USA leaving SA v WI as a knockout QF.

I'm calling it. Eng vs USA washed out, or USA win in a 5 over scramble. WI beat SA and both go through to the semi-finals (WI #1)

I am certain looking at all the forecasts that there will be zero washouts in super 8 and England will give USA a hiding.

Rain % doesn't tell you much. Need to look at amount of precipitation and it's very little rainfall in mm. Potential stoppages will be shorter than you are expecting.

And forecasts on other sites are better.
Why you so obsessed with SA not going through. I have seen your posts and you are getting frantic.

I don't care about SA. I want them to play in the Semifinals as they are an easier team than England.

Few others are frantically defending SA and especially the weather at all costs, so I am countering them in equal measure. Thats all.

You are making up rubbish that the win against England means nothing - which is bull

You are uttering nonsense when the reality is that South Africa will be knocked out if they lose to WI, which is the same as if they had even lost to England. Nothing really has changed realistically speaking. Why are the stubborn lot on this site not willing to accept this single fact. Winning against Englang hasn't changed this.

A lot of bs comments in this thread, bringing up the most improbable scenarios. Scared/dumb/stubborn to mention this most important takeaway from this win.

If SA had done better against USA, this win would've significantly improved SA's chances.

WI's big win today makes South Africa's win over England absolutely meaningless!
Nope. The win means we only need a win or for either of the last 2 games to get washed out.If we had lost only a win would have gotten us through.

Had chances in both the US & England games to win by bigger margins but it is what it is.

He speaks the truth, it was even called some astute posters before the game.
