Who is the better cricketer and batsman out of this two?
Williamson averages 10 runs higher...... There is nothing crazy in ranking him ahead of Crowe.Love both of these. Amazing to watch. Crowe slightly ahead, and he’s probably my favourite batter to watch(except for Lara and Viv, with VVS fourth). And the people ranking Crowe below Williamson are crazy. This guy basically dominated peak Wasim and Waqar, had a magnificent series against the WI attack in 1986/87. His ceiling was really crazy good
He’s a glorified home bully.Williamson averages 10 runs higher...... There is nothing crazy in ranking him ahead of Crowe.
Call it patriotismHe’s a glorified home bully.
Mostly if you go by checklists..... Nz playing so limited Test matches is more of a reason for lack of runs in SA, Eng or India than any technical flaws. Not to mention Crowe himself did much better against WI and Ws at home. He’s a glorified home bully.
Crowe had very tough pitches at home, and faced an ATG WI attack. Also dominated peak Wasim and Waqar(the most dangerous attack of the 90s) home and away. Atleast that to me is a much higher ceiling than KaneMostly if you go by checklists..... Nz playing so limited Test matches is more of a reason for lack of runs in SA, Eng or India than any technical flaws. Not to mention Crowe himself did much better against WI and Ws at home.
Higher ceiling is not all though; Pietersen had one than Root. KW himself played plenty tough attacks at home.Crowe had very tough pitches at home, and faced an ATG WI attack. I think his record in England and India are fair criticism tbf which is why I rate him him lower than ATGs like Dravid and Younis. He’s done enough to be better than ATVGs like Crowe, Greenidge, and Root imho.Mostly if you go by checklists..... Has he had much success tho? Failed against Australia earlier this year right?Higher ceiling is not all though; Pietersen had one than Root. KW himself played plenty tough attacks at home.
Not saying they are unfair, just that I believe his record would improve significantly with more matches there.I think his record in England and India are fair criticism tbf which is why I rate him him lower than ATGs like Dravid and Younis. Didn't like everyone failed?Has he had much success tho? Failed against Australia earlier this year right?
Probably but see for example Martin Crowe was the only NZ bat to stand tall against Wasim and Waqar(who are especially in ATG mode against NZ) while everyone fell. So you except certain things from great batsmenDidn't like everyone failed?
I do, just pointed that it was a low scoring series and Smith also failed. Williamson also just had a great run of form; let's see what he does in his next English and Indian tours.Probably but see for example Martin Crowe was the only NZ bat to stand tall against Wasim and Waqar(who are especially in ATG mode against NZ) while everyone fell. So you except certain things from great batsmen
Nah Root has had his fair share of success abroad(except Aus). And Crowe was more consistent than GoochYeah rating players based on ceilings is fine but then you have to be consistent and also rate Gooch higher than Root
It’s probably too late for KW to fix his record. Hopefully he can keep that average above 50 though
