Why 100 tests, by chance?

80 tests gets in Imran and Sobers (which honestly should be good enough for what is essentially a modern players focused list).

50 tests gets in Bradman of course, but could also shift the focus of the list overall.

I’d be fine with around 75-76 tests so i can list Martin Crowe higher than the most of the frauds on the list

Personally, whilst I might not agree on the OPs order, I (genuinely) think the original post is a good idea*.

I don't really understand why someone would be so perplexed as to why 100 was chosen.

*also great to see a list buddy on here

I mean, the list becomes more focused around more "Test spammy" countries like England's players, as a likely unintended consequence. Also, will exclude a lot of really good fast bowlers, who struggle from attrition. 80+ Tests represents a pretty full career for any type of player batsman to fast bowler, from any country, in the modernish era.

Obviously, it is what it is, and 100 is round enough of a number to use for 10 fingered animals.
