Who are the players with full careers without any concentrated peak period?
Marshall clearly had a very well defined peak, from 1983 (before which he wasn't an automatic selection in the WI bowling attack, despite playing since 78) to 89 (after which he wasn't as effective, best showcased in the 92 WC).The Don.
Outside of him.....McGrath and Marshall feel like solid answers.
Yes outside 2 bad periods related to injuriesLillee was pretty much around the same level entire career, yes?
Nah, he actually had a pretty big slump between the 96 and 03 World Cups. Averaged 43.75 in that period compared to 52.88 throughout his whole career.Maybe Lara?
ok I had a closer look and Border went 13 Tests without a century between Feb 82 and Nov 83 (his average was 46.98 before next century took him to 47.90).Didn't Border have a long period without scoring a century (even if his average remained fine?)
Nah what I was referring to was a 4 year patch when he went centuryless from 1988 to 1992.ok I had a closer look and Border went 13 Tests without a century between Feb 82 and Nov 83 (his average was 46.98 before next century took him to 47.90).
However, thread is who never had a peak, not who never had a slump?
Correct. Not a loss of form, but pretty much maintaining the same level when performing most of their career.ok I had a closer look and Border went 13 Tests without a century between Feb 82 and Nov 83 (his average was 46.98 before next century took him to 47.90).
However, thread is who never had a peak, not who never had a slump?
That mid slump period was long enough for his career to have two peaks. Similar to Lara.Warne, outside of his shoulder reco
Apparently this was Border’s peak..ok I had a closer look and Border went 13 Tests without a century between Feb 82 and Nov 83 (his average was 46.98 before next century took him to 47.90).

0 ducks in 83 innings is impressive. (part of a streak of 89, 4th longest)
David Gower with 119 (82-90)Who has the longest one?
How does his peak start in 1982 when I already pointed out he didn't hit a century in 13 tests between Feb 82 and Nov 83. He must have a shorter peak?Apparently this was Border’s peak..
