Tried to fit Faulkner at 3 but Sanga is a no brainer. Either Rhodes or Goddard for the second opener slot appear to be the best choices if one takes batting positions seriously. Went with Rhodes as there's only one other quality spinner in the side. Opening with Grace would improve this side significantly but it feels like a cop out.

Actually I think I was thinking of someone else.

Some other allrounders from my notes:
Frank Wooley, Johnny Briggs, Billy Bates, Billy Barnes, George Ulyett

Dendarii

International Debutant
You could make a pretty good one just with South Africans

Trevor Goddard
Eddie Barlow
Jacques Kallis
Hansie Cronje
Aubrey Faulkner
Clive Rice
Lance Klusener
Brian McMillan
Mike Procter
Shaun Pollock
Andrew Hall+ (kept in one ODI)

If you extend it to South African born players then Tony Greig comes in for Klusener.

Dexter borderline call. Jadeja gets in if Dexter doesn't count I think.

All that and you didn't pick Boucher!

Apart from 28/29 when England thrashed Australia (in large part due to Wally Hammond) the Aussies dominated the Ashes that decade, yet you only picked Oldfield as the sole Australian to NINE (!) Poms and a Saffa.

What about the likes of Macartney, Ryder, Gregory, and MacDonald?
