Two players I’m sad I only read about and never got to see. This one is genuinely hard for me.

Abbas was a notable home track bully but has a record that is all over the place abroad. He was great in England(aided by that mammoth 274 in 1971) and good in Australia. Horrendous in NZ, WI and India. Imran had said that he was weak against quick bowling.

Amarnath on the other hand was an away track bully but dire at home. Normally one would rate the better overseas batter as better if the records are similar but I wouldn't give Amarnath a free pass for his home record.

Would hence conclude that there is no right or wrong answer in this comparison.

The way Amaranth handled pace away from home is rarer that being a "htb" so him.

Is Yuvraj Singh a better ODI player than Kapil Dev, by that logic?
Relax man..... That was just sort of a joke and just something I find extremely weird (but in a good way? Kinda... ) that Amarnath with a 30 avg and sub 60 SR, and even more horrible bowling record bagged a MOTM at a WC SF and Final. Ofcourse there's no point in comparing them in ODIs.
