on the contrary i rate him above those 2 against spin when considering overall career considering he has played plenty of tests on some wild pitches. his decline against spin has massively affected the perception of how good he was once vs the same

I meant on another level against pace/fast bowling specifically, not overall. Root is arguably better against spin and medium pace.

Nah, Srinath was overrated. Hyping him up tells a lot about the fast bowling drought our country had to endure for decades.

Having said that, when he got his length right, he could be unplayable and extracted lots of movement off the ground. But otherwise a harmless bowler.
