Ugliest and best looking international stadium

Just a fun thread, not to be taken too seriously, thoughts on the ugliest and best looking international stadium and best first class ground not to hold a test match,

1 Always thought the Kennington Oval was pretty ugly looking followed by Port Elizabeth. cant spell the new name,
2 Newlands Cape Town best looking, Adelaide Oval before redevelopment would have been a challenger,
3 Queens Park Chesterfield fantastic ground to play cricket, New Road Worcester pushes it close.

1. Maybe an empty one - concrete jungle

2. Dharamshala along with the 2 you mentioned in the OP. I'd also add John Davies Oval/Queenstown Events Centre (which has had international white ball matches but no tests) and Galle with the fort looks lovely.

3. Molyneux Park, Alexandra which is in Central Otago (best part of NZ).

I have always found the Chinnaswamy stadium to be particularly ugly, even more so than Dehli. Monolithic yet ramshackle, just a horrid looking ground

Never liked Trent Bridge much either. Especially that weird bit at the end of the grandstand that seeming has a view of nothing but the side of the pavillion at one end

Blasphemy! Was my local ground for quite some time, I always enjoyed going there, felt more intimate and cosy than some of the bigger test grounds in the UK even if the construction and development is a bit higgeldy-piggeldy.

None is ugly in my opinion.

Aside from the lack of aesthetic, I think the haphazard nature of some of the English grounds is a bad thing because it limits crowds. Most of them are on small plots of land, but even with that limitation I think a ground-up rebuild with better use of multi-tiered stands could greatly increase capacities. Yes, less intimate, but overall the bigger the crowd the better for the sport IMO. But the needed money obviously isn't on hand.

From an inclusivity angle, having more capacity offers more opportunities for people to watch in person but I'd strongly disagree it leads to a better atmosphere. Definitely not the case with TB. Big stadiums which don't sell out and have big gaps become echoey, making the atmosphere worse.

The expansion of Old Trafford and Headingly have (at least in my view) diminished their attractiveness, not that either was that high up the aesthetic scale in the first place. Conversely the devlopment of the Vauxhall end at the Oval has enhanced it - it was pretty shabby before.

Unlike previous posters I like Trent Bridge, it clean cut but has a certain charm - though I done like the office block on the corner. While the new southern end at Edgbaston is undoubtedly impressive in scale, the ground as a whole is too big for charm and too shabby for grandeur.
