a lot like Ashwin one might say184 in the 3rd test against India in 2005. Unbeaten 90 odd in SA to compare with Laxmans 96 there. Several tons against Murali. A triple ton against NZ. Several tons against Ambrose Walsh.
Huh?a lot like Ashwin one might say
good performancea at home and against the tier 2 teamsHuh?
Ashwin also has several tons against Walsh and Murali.Huh?
No. He has plenty of high value context innings too, perhaps not as many as VVS, but enough to combine with output and give him the win.The entire case for Inzamam relies on ignoring context and looking at aggregates, which is precisely what many of the same posters insist on elsewhere

And of course, Inzi normally batted at no.4 rather than 5/6 and batted much longer in the tougher 90s.
Imo, this is closer than VVS vs JayawardeneInzi.
Jayawardene v VVS would be closer.
Didn't realised Dhoni had a better average and scored more runs against Australia and SA than InzamamDidn't realize VVS was so far ahead against AUS and SA (45 vs 31).
