Knott is an atg keeper but mostly for his keeping skills.

It's the keeper/bats but that's because the expectations of the role have changed so much. We've seen a lot more being able to keep well and effectively hold their place on batting alone lately (Watling, Pant, de Kock, Chandimal, Prior, Rizwan etc) even if they don't have the real top quality or longevity to be ATGs. I reckon we'll see more of them join that list in the next couple of decades than spinners or openers.

Maybe the reason there are so few ATG great openers is because if batsman demonstrate exceptional potential as juniors then they'll probably be told to bat in the middle order.
Also potential ATG wkt/bats would probably be told to give up the gloves and bat higher up the order. If Gilchrist played for any other team in the 00s he'd probably have played as a specialist batsman and batted at 5. Similarly if AB or Sanga kept and played for 00s Australia batting at 7 then they'd probably have the numbers and body of work to be ATG wkt/bats

Spinners probably. Openers very close 2nd too. Not to create any mess here but I legit think Barry had the potential to be ATG. For Spinners, we had a ATG in first 100 Years in O’Reilly and after Warne/ Murali era I don’t see a ATG coming in decades.

Personally I try to keep the numbers of ATGs for each position equivalent to the number in the team (with the possible exception that involves lumping openers and MOBs together). But I suspect the answer I'm supposed to give is keepers, because given that they've been misplayed for most of the time period we consider (since WWI) I'd consider someone like de Kock to be a borderline ATG.

Flower is a batting wicket keeper. So is Sangakkara. In addition Quinton de Koch, Dinesh Chandimal, Rishabh Pant all are in this bracket, and pick ATG out of them.
The list should have players like Healy, Russell, PJ, Bari, Latif, Kirmani, MSD or Engineer other than given above, to pick from.
