Yep. Walsh is a clearly better bowler in my mind, so I am not sure whether Ashwin's batting makes up for that. It's close imo.

Walsh had this open chested action with the ball looking like a lemon in his hand, a big fella. Steve Waugh looked like a David vs Goliath when he faced Walsh. Walsh would bowl ball after ball in the same spot that bothered a batsmen. At one time in mid careee statistically Srinath and he had similar tally of wickets in the number of matches they played but in 30s, Walsh just improvised his statistics while Srinath got stagnant.

Walsh definitely improved towards the end. I reckon he actually usurped Ambrose as the main match-winner in the last 5 years or so. Could do it in all conditions too.
